You must have tried besan gatte ki sabzi many times. But have you made tur dal gatte ki sabzi. If not, then this is a healthy and tasty vegetable for you.
Material
1/2 cup Arhar Dal
1 inch piece ginger
1 green chilli chopped
1 tsp coriander roasted and coarsely ground
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp fennel
pinch of asafoetida powder
1/4 tsp red chili powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp dried mango powder
1 tsp refined oil
Salt according to taste.
tempering ingredients
1 tbsp white sesame seeds
chaat masala as per taste
2 tsp refined oil.
Method
Soak the lentils in water for 3 hours. After draining the water, grind it coarsely with ginger and green chillies. Mix all the other ingredients except oil and make a roll like a gatta by greasing your hand with oil. Make a hole in the middle with a thick needle and cook in steam for 10 minutes. After cooling, cut into 1/2 inch thick pieces. Heat oil in a nonstick pan and crackle sesame seeds. Then put these pieces and flip them upside down for about 3 minutes. Serve by adding chaat masala.
