To make Dal Vada, take 1 cup chana dal, 2 green chilies, 2 red chilies, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp fennel, 1 medium sized onion finely chopped, 1 sprig curry leaves finely chopped, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste , salt to taste and oil to fry. Let us now know the method of making Dal Vada.
Dal Vada Recipe
Soak chana dal well in water for 3-4 hours. Then after getting wet, take out all the water and wash it four to five times with good water. Now take out 1 or 2 tbsp of chana dal and keep it separately and put the remaining dal in a blender. Now add green chilies, red chilies, cumin seeds and fennel to it and grind the lentils coarsely. Try mixing it without water, but if needed add a teaspoon or two of water while grinding.
Now take out the dal in a bowl and add soaked gram dal without grinding it. Also add salt, finely chopped coriander, onion and ginger garlic paste. Now mix all these things together well and take a little batter in your hand and give it the shape of a round tikki. Then heat oil in a pan and deep fry these dal tikkis till they turn golden brown from both the sides. Your hot Dal Vada is ready. Serve them with tomato sauce or green chutney.
