Lakshmi Futan of Raipur had a dream, which she could not fulfill due to her financial constraints, Mahtari Vandan Yojana has brought a big change in her life.
Lakshmi takes care of the household chores. Her husband Gopal Futan is a daily wage laborer. Lakshmi says that the household expenses were met with her husband’s income, but she had to face a lot of trouble in buying things of small needs. Now she is fulfilling those needs with the amount received from this scheme and is also saving.

Now to fulfill her dream, she is collecting the amount received from the scheme in her bank account every month. So that she can buy jewellery. Lakshmi also says that she is very happy that she is getting so much money while sitting at home. She was also worried about the future of her two children Tikam and Dhanendra, she always felt that she should also do some work to become financially strong, but she gets money every month from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana of the state government, by saving that money she is also securing the future of her children. Also, now she does not need to depend on her husband to buy small household items. If there is some household expense, she fulfills it herself. Now she does not have to beg in front of others for money.
Lakshmi says that Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has taken a big decision in the interest of women. Lakhs of women like me are getting opportunities to fulfill their dreams. We thank Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai for this. She also tells that food habits are also getting better. There is no need to take loan to buy ration and other household items. Now we have got an opportunity to be empowered and better nutrition will make life better and the family will remain healthy and happy. Progressive development in life will also bring prosperity. It is noteworthy that under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, married women in the state are being given financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month (total Rs 12,000 annually), which is deposited directly into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai says that his effort will be to double the GDP of the state in the coming five years. That is why a provision of Rs 3,000 crore has been made in the budget for the Mahtari Vandan Yojana to make the women of the state self-reliant. A total of 5 lakh 29 thousand 75 beneficiaries of Raipur district are getting the benefit of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana under which the first installment was sent to the bank accounts of women from March 10. In this scheme, Rs 50 crore 93 lakh 36 thousand 9 hundred rupees have been released to the bank accounts of women as the fourth installment in the month of June.
