Ludhiana: Members of various government and non-government departments have been advised to participate in the Army’s Agniveer recruitment drive. They have been asked to organize events to raise awareness about the special rights and privileges associated with the Agniveer scheme, including involving officials and activists from social and constitutional organizations. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Poonam Singh recently issued these directives during a meeting of employees from various departments. This meeting was convened as part of a campaign launched by the administration to encourage youth in the region to join the armed forces. Speaking at the meeting, Singh emphasized the need and importance of reaching out to as many eligible youth as possible, especially those in rural areas.
Rural Development and Panchayat Department employees have been advised to organize events to spread awareness and information about the eligibility, application, and selection process through sarpanches, panchayat secretaries, lambardars, sports club officials, and other village officials. Officials from the Education Department and the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises (DBEE) have been asked to organize workshops, seminars, and camps in schools, colleges, and other organizations accessible to the public. Participants at the events will be updated on the various posts available under the Agniveer Scheme; the application process and eligibility criteria; and the benefits of serving in the Army. The ADC urged the youth to come forward enthusiastically, register online without delay, and grab the opportunity to serve the nation. Online registration for Agniveers has already begun through joinindianarmy.nic.in and will continue until April 1, 2026, and eligible unmarried youth can apply for various posts.
