Liquor and condom found in principal’s room, missionary school sealed

Bhopal (IANS) | During a surprise inspection of a missionary school in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district, the principal’s office was sealed after liquor and condoms were found in his room. The State Child Rights Protection Commission inspected the school on Saturday. The SCPCR team found liquor and condoms on the bed, besides other objectionable items including egg trays, a gas cylinder and liquor bottles.

Nivedita Sharma, member of the SCPCR inspection team, said that she has brought the matter to the notice of the District Collector. The police is probing the entire matter. An FIR has been lodged against the school principal and a detailed probe has been sought from the police.

Sharma told IANS that when we reached there for routine inspection, we were surprised to know how both the corners of the school were connected from inside, it was a room and there were liquor bottles and condoms. It was like a full residential setup. It is not only of one person but also other people came out of the building, who were living there. It was being used as a residence.

He further said that at least 15 beds were lying in that room and there was no CCTV camera. The question arises as to why that particular section was left out when CCTV cameras are installed at other places in the building. The principal said that he is not staying there, so who is staying there and why are there 15 beds. More importantly, why is there a direct entrance to that room from the classrooms of the girl students.

Sharma said that liquor is absolutely not allowed in the school premises. This is a violation of the law. The Excise Department is also taking action in this matter as it is also illegal that no one can keep such quantity of liquor. Some other objectionable items including condoms have also been found.
