Tamil Nadu: Left parties have condemned the suspension of eight members of Parliament from Tamil Nadu, including MPs S. Venkatesan and Manickam Tagore, from the Lok Sabha.
P. Shanmugam (Communist Party of India (Marxist)): The suspension of eight MPs, including Lok Sabha members Manickam Tagore and S. Venkatesan, for the entire session is reprehensible. Preventing the Leader of the Opposition and other members from speaking and stripping them of their rights is an assault on democracy.
M. Veerpandian (Communist Party of India): The manner in which Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is functioning undermines the democratic values of Parliament. His anti-democratic attitude is deplorable.
