KIMS and Shubhra Foundation join hands to set up rural hospital in Mayurbhanj

Bhubaneswar: The Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) and Shubhra Foundation, Gujarat have signed a MoU to set up a rural hospital in Kunchisole village under Betnoti in Mayurbhanj district.

The MoU was signed today in the presence of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the founder of KIIT, KISS & KIMS, and Smita Murmu, the Director of Shubhra Priyambada Foundation.

On behalf of Shubhra Priyambada Foundation, Badri Mohapatra, and on behalf of KIMS, Group Director Dillip Panda, signed the MoU. As per the understanding, Shubhra Priyambada Foundation will provide all infrastructure for the hospital, while KIMS will take responsibility for the hospital’s clinical establishment, operations, and overall administration.

Smita Murmu, belonging to a reputed family, has been working for over 30 years in Betnoti and surrounding areas of Mayurbhanj district in the fields of healthcare and other social welfare activities. With the establishment of KIMS–Shubhra Hospital, tribal and local populations of Betnoti and nearby areas will be immensely benefited.

Kunchisole village is the birthplace of Dr. Girish Chandra Murmu, the former CAG and first LG of Jammu & Kashmir, who is a source of pride for Odisha and India.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta expressed his delight over the signing of the MoU and said that KIMS–Shubhra Hospital will soon become operational.
