Kia has reshuffled its line-up for Carens MPV in India and this comes after the global debut of the Carens Clavis. The new model of the MPV will be sold in India along with the existing Carens. It is quite surprising to find out that the Kia Carens is offered in a single variant only.
Kia has discontinued as many as 9 variants of Carens and now the MPV is left with just Premium (O) trim. The price of the MPV is priced from Rs 11.41 lakh (ex-showroom). There ae as many as three engine options available in the MPV and that include manual and clutchless manual (turbo-petrol only) gearbox.
The Premium (O) 1.5 NA Petrol MT variant is a 7-seater and costs Rs 11.41 lakh. The Premium (O) 1.5 Turbo-petrol iMT variant is a 7-seater and cots Rs 12.65 lakh. There is a diesel engine option in the MPV and it is the Premium (O) 1.5 Diesel MT 7-seater variant, which costs Rs 13.16 lakh.
In case you are opting for an automatic gearbox option, you have to opt for the Carens Clavis. Prior to being discontinued, the Kia Carens was available with 10 variants: Premium, Premium (O), Prestige, Prestige (O), Prestige Plus, Prestige Plus (O), Luxury, Luxury (O), Luxury Plus, and X-Line.
Kia Carens Premium (O) is offered in three 1.5-litre engine options. It includes 1.5-litre naturally aspirated, four-cylinder engine, 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The NA petrol engine gets a 6-speed manual gearbox and can generate a 115 PS of power and a peak torque of 144 Nm. The turbo petrol engine will produce 160 PS power and 253 Nm of torque. It will be paired with 6-speed iMT. The diesel engine produces a peak power output of 116 PS and 250 Nm of torque. It will be paired with 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter auto.
