Kerala: Female firefighters are strictly prohibited from working alone on duty

Kerala: When women firefighters are on duty, they are instructed not to work alone. The Chief of Fire and Rescue Services has issued an order regarding the first batch of women police officers working in Kerala for about a year. There should be at least two women staff in the police station. Great care should be taken to avoid situations where only one is assigned the task. The reply also states that in such a situation, work should be postponed till the next day. Currently, 87 women are working as firefighters in the state. It is also recommended that a copy of the order issued be provided to the local fire departments of the state.
