JHARKHAND: The ongoing yard remodeling and infrastructure development work at Panki Dham Railway Station is now impacting several key rail routes across the East Central and Eastern Railway zones. Due to this work, operational changes have been made to numerous long-distance trains passing through the Dhanbad Railway Division. The Railways has announced that several trains—including the Howrah–Jodhpur and Howrah–Bikaner expresses—will be cancelled, short-terminated, short-originated, or diverted during July.
The Railways has urged passengers to check their train status before traveling to avoid any inconvenience at the station.
Why is yard remodeling being done?
The objective of the yard remodeling at Panki Dham Station is to make train operations safer, faster, and smoother. Under this project, railway tracks, signaling systems, points and crossings, platform connectivity, and other technical infrastructure are being modernized.
According to railway officials, once the work is completed, train movement will become more organized, and operational capacity will increase in the future.

Due to the yard remodeling, temporary changes have been made to the operations of several important trains connecting North India and East India. These primarily include:

Some of these trains will remain cancelled on scheduled dates, while others will undergo changes regarding their routes, timings, or originating and terminating stations.
Impact on passengers of the Dhanbad Division
Passengers traveling from Dhanbad, Bokaro, Gomoh, Parasnath, and nearby stations are advised to exercise extra caution. The Railways states that the list of affected trains and the revised timetable have already been released.
