Kerala: Case of theft for marriage, youth from Assam arrested

MALAPPURAM: A migrant worker who was planning to escape after stealing from shops has been arrested. The arrested thief is Nagaon Jiyabur. It is reported that the accused stole from the shops to get money for his wedding expenses. He was arrested from Palakkad railway station when he was trying to escape. The plan was to enter his native Assam.

He committed thefts from four shops, including a mobile shop, near Areekode Bus Stand in Malappuram. He broke the lock and entered the shop. The suspect was arrested within 48 hours after an investigation based on CCTV footage. The suspect is getting married on January 8. The suspect told the police that he committed the theft to raise money for the wedding expenses.
