Kendrapara: The accountant of the BEO office in Rajkanika, Kendrapara district was nabbed Odisha Vigilance today while taking bribe from a SHG for supply of school uniforms.
The accused has been identified as Firoz Khan, the accountant-cum-supporting staff of the Block Education Office in Rajkanika.
As per reports, today, a short while ago, Firoz Khan has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs. 20,000 (Rupees Twenty Thousand) from a Complainant in lieu of passing bill amount of Rs.1.93 Lakhs and for releasing the balance amount of an SHG that had already supplied school uniforms to Schools of Rajkanika Block as per terms and conditions of the Govt. The entire tainted bribe money of Rs.20000 has been recovered from the possession of accused Md. Khan, Accountant and seized.
Following the trap, search is being conducted at one place connected to Md. Khan from DA angle.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS case no 5/2025, U/s 7P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered.
Investigation is in progress against accused Md. Khan, Accountant, office of BEO, Rajkanika, Kendrapara. Detailed report follows.
