Kanker police took action against 169 drunken drivers

Kanker. The cases of road accidents are continuously increasing in the district. When the reasons for the accidents were investigated, it was found that most of the accidents are happening due to drunken driving. The police launched a special campaign regarding this from 7 to 16 June. During these 10 days, action was taken against 169 drunken drivers. On whom a total fine of Rs 12 lakh 68 thousand has been imposed.

Kanker SP Divyang Patel said that “During the action, action has been taken against those who drive after drinking alcohol by checking through breath analyzers. Under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act, the caught drivers were taken to the district hospital and community health centers.” Seized while taking action.A total fine of Rs 12 lakh 68 thousand 100 was collected by taking action against 169 drivers.

Talking about the police stations falling on the State and National Highway in the district, a total of 29 drunken drivers were caught in the Charama police station falling on the National Highway 30. This includes 24 bikes, three pickups and two car drivers. Maximum 29 drunken drivers have been caught in Charama police station. Kanker SP has honored Kanker traffic police station and Charama police station in-charge by giving them a citation.
