Jalandhar: Mukerian police have registered a case of culpable homicide against two accused after a 23-year-old man died under suspicious circumstances. According to the deceased’s mother, Babbu of Sinha Umarpur, her son, Ajay Kumar, a painter, was last seen with the accused, Amarjeet Singh and Kuldeep Singh, on Lohri evening. Babbu said that on Lohri evening, the two accused took her son with them, and he returned home later that night. However, around 11:30 p.m., they returned and took him away again. After returning home the second time, Ajay felt very ill and began vomiting. A short while later, Babbu found him lying unconscious near his door, foaming at the mouth. Upon closer inspection, she found a syringe filled with drugs in Ajay’s hand. Nearby, he also found wax paper commonly used to pack and sell drugs, leading to suspicions that his son had consumed drugs before his death. The investigation is ongoing, and police are examining various leads based on the mother’s statements and evidence found at the scene.
