Sundargarh clash: BNS Section 163 imposed, Internet suspended

Sundargarh: The district administration imposed prohibitory orders and suspended internet services in Sundargarh district of Odisha following a group clash. Internet services have been shut down in Sundargarh town until 6 PM today. Keeping in view the violence and rising tension, schools and colleges have been closed.

A serious situation arose following a face-off between two groups in the Regent Market area of the district. In the incident, 12 people were injured, including 4 police personnel.

To control the law and order situation, 19 platoons of security forces have been deployed. Five platoons of police force have been stationed at the incident site. Night-long patrolling has been carried out. The administration is making efforts to normalize the situation.

Western Range DIG Brijesh Rai has appealed to the public to cooperate with the police administration. A peace committee meeting will be held to fully restore normalcy. Two persons have been detained, and strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
