Jalandhar: To curb traffic violations, the Commissionerate Police continued its special drive by targeting vehicles fitted with illegal black films and hooter. The drive was carried out under the supervision of Model Town ACP Harjinder Singh with an aim to improve road safety and ensure compliance of traffic rules. The drive was carried out on Thursday at major locations, including Manbro Chowk and Model Town Market, where checkposts were set up to nab violators. The officers were deployed for the drive in collaboration with the Emergency Response System team.
Their primary purpose was to ensure smooth traffic flow and safe roads for the residents of the city by taking strict action against those violating traffic rules. During the four-hour drive from 6 pm to 10 pm, 105 vehicles were checked. Of these, 12 vehicles were challaned for various violations. Eight vehicles were fined for using illegal black films, two for triple riding on two-wheelers and two for jumping red lights. The special drive is part of the Commissionerate Police’s commitment to enforce traffic laws and ensure the safety of all road users. ACP Harjinder Singh said, “By taking swift action, we aim to send a strong message about the importance of following traffic rules to maintain order and safety on the city roads.”
