Jalandhar: Theft in a closed house, gold and cash stolen

Jalandhar: A house in Nadala town of Kapurthala district was burgled while the inmates of the house had gone to visit their relatives in Amritsar. The incident came to light when the family returned home and found the locks broken and household items scattered. According to complainant Ranjit Singh, the theft took place on June 25. The thieves reportedly entered the house by breaking the kitchen grill and ransacked the cupboards. The stolen items include two gold chains, three gold rings weighing around 15 grams, one gold ring and four gold earrings weighing around 14 grams. Besides, Rs 10,000 is also missing from the house. Sub-inspector Amandeep Nahar, SHO of Subhanpur police station, said an FIR has been registered in this regard.
