Jalandhar: Armed robbers loot petrol pump, robbed of Rs 44,000

Jalandhar: Late Sunday evening, an armed robbery was reported at a petrol pump in Kapurthala, where three unidentified youths allegedly stole cash at gunpoint and fled. The incident has raised serious concerns about security and public safety at commercial locations operating late at night. According to a complaint filed by Karan Pratap Singh, son of Paramjit Singh and resident of House No. 63, Urban Estate, Kapurthala, the robbery occurred at the Doaba Petrol Mart in Sidhwan Dona village. He stated that on December 27th, at around 7:30 p.m., he received a call from his employee, Neeraj Maurya, informing him that three unidentified youths had arrived at the petrol pump on a Bullet motorcycle without a number plate. The accused reportedly had their faces covered with cloth, and two of them were armed with pistols. The complainant alleged that the attackers pointed pistols at the staff and looted approximately ₹44,000 in cash from the petrol pump before fleeing. Upon arriving at the scene, they learned that the same suspects had committed a similar robbery at the Rajapur Filling Station, where they allegedly robbed an employee of approximately ₹4,500 at gunpoint. Based on the statement, police have registered a case at the Kapurthala City Police Station under sections 390 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and section 25 of the Arms Act. Police officials said an investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the accused, and efforts are being made to locate the motorcycle and review nearby CCTV surveillance footage.
