Baripada: A group of three miscreants fired at a liquor shop owner reportedly after failing to rob the shop at Gorumahisani village in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday.
The unidentified miscreants came to Sabyasachi Mohanty’s foreign liquor shop at Gorumahisani village on a bike and attempted to loot from him. However, after they failed in their robbery bid, they fired at Sabyasachi and fled from the spot within no time.
Sabyasachi, who received bullet injuries on his legs following the firing, was rescued and was rushed to the Rairangpur Sub-divisional Hospital for treatment. Later, he was referred to the Mayurbhanj District Headquarters Hospital (DDH) as his condition continued to be critical.
Meanwhile, Gorumahisani Police has started a probe into the matter and launched a search operation to trace and arrest the miscreants. They are also reportedly collecting footages of the CCTV cameras install in and around the spot of firing.
