In Indore, a minor was forced to take off his clothes and chant religious slogans

Bhopal (IANS) | A 12-year-old boy was allegedly stripped naked and forced to chant religious slogans in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore. A senior police officer said on Friday that the accused, who is a minor and known to the victim, has been taken into custody.

According to the police, the matter came to light late on Thursday night after the video of the incident surfaced on social media. The victim was playing near Star Square when one of the accused approached him and took him to another place.

The victim told the police that another boy joined them when they reached near a flyover in Mahalaxmi Nagar area. Both forced him to chant religious slogans. They allegedly thrashed him and made him strip.

He somehow escaped from there and narrated the whole incident to his parents. After this, the family took him to the nearby police station and lodged a complaint on Thursday.

Police said, the accused and the victim were known to each other. We have taken the accused into custody and booked them under relevant IPC sections. We have also requested people not to make the video of the incident viral on social media, as both the accused and the victim are minors. Police is trying to find out what made the accused do this.

A senior police officer told IANS that the investigation into the matter is on.
