IMD predicts dense fog conditions in Odisha, issues yellow warning to 15 districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has issued a yellow warning to 15 districts in Odisha. The IMD has said that fog is expected for the next 2 days.

The yellow warning has been given for the upcoming 24 hours for dense fog. The districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Puri, Khurdha, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal and Kalahandi.

On January 27, the dense fog is expected in districts of Sundargarh, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts. The visibility in these districts has been reduced to less than 50 metres. In some places, visibility has been reduced to zero.

Due to meagre visibility, the areas have become accident-prone zones. The temperature in the day and night is also increasing signifying that winter will soon be disappearing from Odisha. 2 to 3 degrees rise in temperature can be expected. The temperature in coastal Odisha is likely to touch 35 degrees Celsius.
