Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued three days of rain alert for different districts of Odisha.
According to the weather department, thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind is expected to occur in different districts of the State till May 4.
Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM of May 2):
YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak.
Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Koraput and Malkangiri.
Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of May 2 to 8.30 AM of May 3):
ORANGE WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph and Hailstorm, Heavy rainfall very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Gajapati and Ganjam.
YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Rayagada and Koraput.
Day 3 (Valid from 8.30 AM of May 3 to 8.30 AM of May 4):
ORANGE WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph with Heavy Rainfall with Hailstorm very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Balasore.
YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Nawarangapur and Kalahandi.
Maximum Temperature Forecast:
No Large Change in Maximum Temperature (day temperature) during next 4 days and thereafter rise by 2 – 4°C thereafter over the districts of Odisha.
