Illegal shopkeepers gathered goods from the bus stand, were burning government electricity for free

The businessmen, who were illegally doing business by occupying the government land of the bus stand by thumping their chest, fled on Thursday by packing sacks and bedding. After which barely the officials of the Transport Corporation had cleared the encroachment with the help of the police and instead had to face heavy protests. When time passed, the encroachment started again on the instructions of some white collars. There were two shops in these encroachments, which were operating in the roadways premises for the last 8 months.

The big thing was that these shopkeepers were not only causing financial loss to the Corporation, but were also using their own electricity and water for free. In the beginning, when Amrit Vichar revealed the racket, even the local officials refrained from speaking openly, but when the matter reached Dehradun, there was a stir. When instructions came from the headquarters to forcefully vacate the possession, the shopkeepers themselves started collecting the goods on Thursday.

Haldwani: In this whole matter, the illegal shopkeepers did not leave any stone unturned to save the shop. A shopkeeper even claimed that his shop was set up as per the rules and that the headquarter itself had given him permission to set up shop. Not only this, the shopkeeper claimed that he also had the permission letter from the headquarters, but he could not show the permission letter and on Thursday he went on with the shop.

Haldwani: The shopkeepers did not have the courage to occupy government land and run shops and use electricity and water free of cost. Actually, there was a white-collar hand behind all this. This white-collar is a big leader and he threatens the officers, but when the matter reached the officers’ own ranks, even the kindness of the white-collar could not save the illegal shopkeepers.
