IG Bastar gave statement regarding Naxalite encounter in Chhattisgarh

Bijapur. On the exchange of fire with Naxalites near Jonaguda and Aliguda on the Bijapur-Sukma border, IG Bastar, P Sundarraj said, “3 soldiers have been martyred. Naxalites launched a major attack on the CRPF camp in Tekalgudem village, border area of Sukma-Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. On the other hand, after receiving information about the attack, the force reached the spot and cordoned off the area and started searching for the attackers.

According to the information, a security camp was set up today on January 30 in Sukma police station Jagargunda area to curb Naxal activities and to provide assistance to the people of the area. After the camp, CRPF’s Cobra soldiers were conducting search operations in Jonaguda-Aliguda area. During this time, Maoists opened fire on the soldiers.

The security forces also gave a befitting reply to the Maoist firing and retaliated. Seeing the increasing pressure from the security forces, the Maoists fled under the cover of the forest. However, in this encounter, 3 soldiers were martyred due to bullet injuries. And 14 soldiers were injured. The condition of the injured soldiers is said to be out of danger. He has been sent to Raipur for treatment.
