Patna. Brajesh Mehrotra has been made the new Chief Secretary of the state. Chaitanya Prasad has been given the responsibility of the new Development Commissioner. The General Administration Department has issued its notification on Saturday. The new system will be effective from March 4. Actually, the current Chief Secretary Aamir Subhani has taken voluntary retirement (VRS). The state government also approved his VRS after which Brajesh Mehrotra has been deputed as the new Chief Secretary.

Brajesh Mehrotra is a 1989 batch IAS officer of the Indian Administrative Service and was currently holding the post of Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Land Reforms Department. Apart from this, he also had the responsibility of Chief Investigation Commissioner of the Department of Parliamentary Affairs and General Administration Department.
Chaitanya Prasad is a 90 batch IAS officer.
The post of Development Commissioner had become vacant due to the appointment of the current Development Commissioner Vivek Kumar Singh as the Chairman of RERA. Now 90 batch IAS officer Chaitanya Prasad has been brought to this post. He was currently holding the post of Additional Chief Secretary of Water Resources Department. Chaitanya Prasad has been given the additional charge of Development Commissioner along with Chairman cum Member of Revenue Board and Additional Chief Secretary of Water Resources Department till further orders.
