Hyderabad: A video going viral on social media purportedly showing a youth lying in front of a moving bus on Yousufguda Main Road in Hyderabad has turned out to be fake. The incident has sparked a controversy over the potential risk of others imitating such dangerous acts to gain fame on social media. Initially believed to be a life-threatening stunt performed for an Instagram reel, the edited footage shows the teenager suddenly falling to the ground in front of the bus, narrowly escaping a potentially fatal collision. The clip has shocked and drawn condemnation from netizens, who have urged police officials to “arrest” the youth.
Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) Managing Director VC Sajjanar promptly responded to the reactions on his official ‘X’ handle, declaring that the video was a fabricated one created to gain popularity on social media. He stressed the dangers of such content and warned about the possibility of others copying similar antics for online fame. “This video going viral on social media is fake. It is a completely edited video. Some people are editing such videos to become popular on social media. Trying to tarnish the image of RTC is not a good thing. Such unintentional acts done for likes and comments are prone to being copied by others as well. Edited videos made for fun can also harm others,” he said. Sajjanar further said that the TGSRTC management will take these incidents seriously and take legal action against those responsible.
