Honorary Doctorate to KIIT, KISS Founder Achyuta Samanta from Koyasan University

Bhubaneswar: Educationist and social activist Dr. Achyuta Samanta has been awarded an honorary doctorate from Koyasan University, Japan. Dr. Samanta has been conferred with this honor for his outstanding work in the field of education and social service.

This is Dr. Samanta’s 58th honorary doctorate. Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Padnavis was the first Indian to receive this honor while Dr. Samanta is the second Indian to receive this honor from Koyasan University.

In a special function of the university on Tuesday, in the presence of Nikhilesh Giri, Consul General of India stationed in Osaka-Kobe, and senior officials and dignitaries of Koyasan University. Koyasan University President Rev. Ryusho Soeda San presented the honor to Dr. Samanta.

It is worth noting that this institution, which was recognized as an university in 1926, is one of the oldest universities in Japan with more than 100 years of history. On reaching Koyasan University, Dr. Samanta paid homage to Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s statue in the University premises. On the occasion of Dr. Samantha’s visit to Japan, a memorandum of understanding has been signed with KIIT University and Koyasan University. On this occasion, Dr. Samanta had a courtesy meeting with Sibi George, the Indian Ambassador to Japan.
