Chamba. The Mobilized Sangharsh Committee knocked at the door of the district administration on Saturday demanding the construction of Holi-Uttarala road. During this, the committee also submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner through AC to DC Chamba Manish Chaudhary. The committee delegation was led by committee chairman Gagan Thakur.
In the memorandum submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, the committee has prominently raised the demand for intervention in the matter of repairing the two kilometer road from Locke Wali Mata Temple to Surei Nala. The committee says that due to this road not being in good condition, the proposed construction work of further four kilometers of road has also remained pending.
Committee officials Vinod Thakur, Anoop Kumar and Sunil Thakur and others say that the people of the area have also surrounded the PWD department by staging a silent protest regarding this issue. Therefore, he has requested the administration to arrange a budget to repair the two kilometer road.
It is noteworthy that a committee has been formed to finalize the demand for construction of Holi-Uttara road. This committee has submitted a demand letter to the MLA of Bharmour and the Public Works Department, demanding to speed up the road construction work. Now the committee has submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner to start the next four kilometer award work by providing a budget for improving the condition of two kilometers of road from Locke Wali Mata Mandir to Surei Nala for road construction work.
