Himachal: Congress threatens to file defamation suit against Kangana

Himachal Pradesh: Kangana is the MP from Mandi Ranaut and controversy go hand in hand. She has stirred a controversy by claiming that “the Himachal government takes loans and then gives it to Sonia Gandhi”. The Himachal Congress is furious and party leaders are threatening to file a defamation case against her. “If she does not prove her absurd claim with documentary evidence or apologise, the party will file a defamation case against her,” Public Works Department (PWD) minister Vikramaditya Singh said here today. The angry minister even called Kangana “less educated” and her statement “idiotic”. “There cannot be a more idiotic statement than this. It shows her intellectual bankruptcy. She is not very educated and this is reflected in her statements time and again,” Vikramaditya said.

Kangana made the allegation while interacting with media persons in Manali. He accused the Congress government of ruining the state and said, “The government takes loans and gives that money to Sonia Gandhi. And even if we get disaster relief from the central government, it will go to Sonia Gandhi only. There is a conspiracy to ruin the state. Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee President Pratibha Singh is also angry with the Mandi MP’s allegation. She said, “Can any sane person think that the money coming from the Centre will go to Sonia Gandhi? This statement is unfortunate and reflects her mindset.” Senior Congress leader Kaul Singh said that Kangana should not be taken seriously. He said, “In the past, she had said that India got independence after 2014 and Subhash Chandra Bose was the first Prime Minister of India. She has a habit of making absurd statements and hence she should not be taken seriously.” Meanwhile, Vikramaditya said that the BJP should also take cognizance of her statement. He said, “The BJP has already asked her not to speak on sensitive issues, but she seems to be out of control.”
