Heavy collision between a bus and truck full of wedding processions, 5 dead

Ranchi: There was a massive collision between a bus full of wedding guests and a highway truck near Kudu in Lohardaga district of Jharkhand on Friday night. Five people died in the accident and more than two dozen people were injured. The dead include three children. About a dozen seriously injured people have been admitted to RIMS, Ranchi for treatment. The bus full of wedding guests was returning from Bodeya in Ranchi to Vishunpur in Gumla. At around ten o’clock in the night, a truck coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with a bus near Tati Chowk in Kudu. Hearing the screams, nearby people reached the spot. On receiving the information, the police team also reached the spot. However, the injured were then taken out of the bus and sent to Lohardaga and Ranchi for treatment. The five people who died on the spot in the accident include Priyanka Kujur (5), Sumanti Kherwar (6), Chhatrapal Oraon, Altaf and an eight-month-old child.
