Hawala money of Rs 75 lakh cash seized in Raipur, interrogation of youth continues

Raipur. Under the direction of senior officers, suspicious vehicles and individuals were being checked at an MCP point in Samata Colony, Azad Chowk area. During this, an Activa vehicle, bearing registration number CG 04 NJ 8956, carrying a large bag, was stopped. Upon checking the bag, it was found to contain a large sum of cash. The passenger, upon questioning, revealed his name as Milan Sharma, a resident of Azad Chowk, Raipur.

When questioned about the cash and asked to produce documents, he was unable to produce any valid documents and continued to mislead the police team members.

On which a total of Rs. 75,00,000/- (seventy five lakh rupees) cash, 04 mobile phones and an Activa vehicle were seized from the possession of Milan Sharma and legal action was taken against him in Police Station Azad Chowk under FIR No. 01/2026, Section 106 BNSS and the matter was reported to the Income Tax Department, in which further investigation is being carried out by the Income Tax Department.

Milan Sharma, father Radheshyam Sharma, age 25 years, resident of Samata Colony, opposite street of Khaduscham Temple, Police Station Azad Chowk, District Raipur.
