Kerala: Dr Asha Devi took over as Kozhikode DMO after the new order of the government. The Health Department has decided to implement the transfer order issued on December 9 as it is. The incident became controversial when the current DMO Dr Asha Devi was not ready to vacate the post after being transferred to Kozhikode DMO office. Two people were in the post of DMO in the cabin at the same time. Kozhikode DMO Rajendran had taken a stay on the transfer. After the stay was lifted, Dr Asha Devi came to the DMO office to take charge.
However, Kozhikode DMO Rajendran’s stance was that she would not vacate her post until a new order was issued. In early December, DMO Rajendran was transferred to the post of Additional Director in the Directorate of Health Department. Dr Asha Devi took over as Kozhikode DMO on December 10. However, two days later, Rajendran took over as DMO after getting a stay on the transfer from the Administrative Tribunal. Later, when she came to know that the tribunal had withdrawn the stay on the transfer order, Dr. Asha Devi reached the office on Tuesday afternoon.
