Godda: Campaign to remove encroachment in the market intensifies

Jharkhand: On Saturday, the administration launched a campaign to remove encroachment in Podaiyahat market of Godda district. This action was taken in view of the continuous jam on the main road and the problems faced by the people. During the campaign, encroachments made on the roadside were removed with the help of bulldozers, so that the market area could be freed from encroachments and traffic could become smooth. This action was taken under the leadership of CO Amit Kisku. The administrative team started the operation from around 10 am in the morning, in which police force was also present in large numbers. Before the action, shopkeepers and local people were warned through mike and given time to remove their goods. Despite this, those who could not remove the encroachment, their carts, tents, tin sheds and temporary shops were removed with JCB. In this action of the administration, illegal construction and encroachment spanning about 50 meters was removed. This also included stairs, temporary structures and roadside carts. Officials say that due to encroachment in the market, there was a daily traffic jam, which caused problems to school going children, patients and even ambulances. Many times the danger of an accident also arose. CO Amit Kisku said that despite repeated warnings the encroachment was not removed, hence this action had to be taken. He also made it clear that any kind of encroachment on government land will not be tolerated and this campaign will continue in future also. Local people have welcomed this action of the administration. Villagers say that with the removal of encroachment, movement in the market will become easier and the problem of traffic jam will get relief. The administration has reiterated that strict action will be taken against those who break the rules and the public roads will be kept completely clean.
