Panjim: Among the 28 conditions set by the tourism department for the organizer of the Sunburn EDM festival, there is an interesting clause which states that the entire area of Sunburn is “preferably” an area for non-smokers. With the word “preferably”, it is unlikely that this clause will even be examined.
This pertains to the section in which the organizers have been asked to ensure that no illegal substances or drugs are used in any way during the event.
Meanwhile, though it granted temporary permission to the festival, the department listed 28 conditions that organizers Spacebound Web Labs Pvt Ltd would have to fulfill before giving final permission.
The conditions are that the entire festival area is preferably a non-smoking area, contact the transit cell for effective management of traffic and parking for the entire area and inform the same to the department. The conditions also specify that there should be no noise pollution and the organizers will be responsible for the safety of participants, spectators and the general public at the event.
Organizers are requested to submit the list of artistic performers and their nationality along with No Objection Certificate from visa type, FRRO and other CON statuses, if required; Do not submit any certificate of previous year’s quota from Goa Police Department, Commercial Tax Department, Special Tax Department, Anjuna Community and Gram Panchayat etc. All free passes should be sold by the tourism department to avoid losses. The volunteers will be provided with identity cards and reflective jackets for crowd control, parking management etc. and will verify their credentials/antecedents from security point of view.
