Kondagaon. Under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, the government is encouraging urban and rural domestic electricity consumers to install rooftop solar plants on the roofs of their houses.
This scheme will prove to be important in making consumers self-reliant in the field of electricity and ensuring the participation of Chhattisgarh state in the field of green energy. The plant installed under this scheme will be connected to the electricity grid through net metering, due to which more electricity produced than the consumption will be supplied to the grid. This will not only make the electricity of the consumers’ house zero, but will also get additional income in lieu of the electricity given to the grid.
For installing solar panels on the roofs of the house, the beneficiaries will be given a subsidy of Rs 30 to 78 thousand per plant by the government. According to the capacity of the rooftop solar plant, the government will provide a subsidy of Rs 30 thousand for 01 kilowatt at a cost of approximately Rs 65 thousand, a subsidy of Rs 60 thousand for 02 kilowatt at a cost of Rs 01 lakh 30 thousand and a subsidy of Rs 78 thousand will be given for a solar plant of more than 03 kilowatt at a cost of Rs 01 lakh 95 thousand. In this, the contribution of the beneficiary will be 10 percent and for the remaining amount, loan will be provided by banks at an interest rate of 07 percent.
