Former MLA had cheated for Rs 2.5 crore, sentenced to 7 years

Janjgir-Champa. Former BSP MLA Banwari Lal Kushwaha of Dholpur, Rajasthan has been found guilty in a case of cheating of Rs 2.67 crore in the district. In this case, Janjgir Chief Judicial Magistrate has sentenced Kushwaha to 7 years in jail. Apart from Kushwaha, a case was also registered against Shivram Kushwaha, Bal Kishan Kushwaha, Jitendra Kumar and Vijendra Pal Singh. These four are out of the reach of the police.

District Prosecution Officer Nand Kumar Patel said that Rajasthan’s chit fund company Garima Home Real Estate and Allied Company had opened its office at Lions Chowk in Champa of Janjgir-Champa district. Some people of the area joined the company after getting lured by it. The company made people deposit money through agents and promised to double the amount in five years. In this way, after defrauding about 2 crore 67 lakh 48,374 rupees, the company closed its office.

When the investors saw the office locked, they realized that they had been cheated. Investor Dilchand Devangan, father of Kishan Devangan, had filed a report in the matter. On his report, the police arrested the company’s director and former Dholpur MLA Banwari Lal Kushwaha. The case went on in the court for 5 years. Chief Judicial Magistrate Sarv Vijay Agarwal found him guilty in the case.
