Bengaluru: In a shocking and tragic incident, a former Karnataka DGP was murdered in HSR Layout, Bengaluru on Sunday said the Bangalore City Police.
The DGP has been identified as Om Prakash, an 1981 batch IPS officer. The exact reason for the incident is not yet known, said sources in the Bangalore City Police to ANI.
In relation to the incident, Bengaluru Additional CP Vikas Kumar told ANI, “Today afternoon around 4:00 to 4:30 pm, we got information about the death of our former DGP and IGP Om Prakash.”
He further added, “His son has been contacted and he is giving a complaint against the incident, and based on that, an FIR will be registered. After the case is registered, a detailed investigation will be carried out. Immediately, there are no arrests.”
“Initial investigation suggests that things might be internal in nature… It seems that some sharp weapon has been used, which caused so much blood loss that it led to death,” Bengaluru Additional CP Vikas Kumar added.
