Turkey: A fire in crop stubble spread to settlements in southeastern Turkie overnight, killing 11 people and injuring dozens. 44 people were treated in hospitals, 10 of them in critical condition. According to media reports, the fire broke out in an area between Diyarbakir and Mardin provinces. Diyarbakir Governor Ali Ihsan Su said the fire spread rapidly due to winds and engulfed the settlements of Kokaslan, Yazcisegei and Bagacik villages. The fire was brought under control early Friday. Health Minister Fahrettin Koca wrote on social media that authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
