Bijnor (IANS) | A fire broke out in the State Bank of India located in Chandpur area of Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday morning. In which many documents and computers kept in the bank were burnt to ashes. According to a fire department official, they received information about the incident around 8:30 am. On information, the fire department pressed 2 fire engines into service.
The firemen have brought the fire under control after a lot of effort, the official said. There is no news of any casualties so far. The cause of the fire is yet to be known.
Bank branch manager Ashutosh Mishra said that the cause of the fire is not yet clear. Documents and a computer, counter etc. were burnt to ashes due to the fire. It is a matter of honor that the fire did not reach the strong room, otherwise there could have been a big loss. After extinguishing the fire, the main gate of the bank was closed, which will be opened only after the arrival of the high officials of the bank.
The manager said that due to the fire in the bank, the work may be affected for about two days.
