Maharashtra: The Cyber Cell of Maharashtra Police has registered an FIR against the operator of a YouTube channel and one of its users for child exploitation on the basis of a letter written to it by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. NCPCR). According to an official, YouTube’s India representative is also named in the FIR. This letter from NCPCR has come after a video named ‘Lipstick Challenge’ was uploaded on YouTube. It shows a woman and a minor applying lipstick, and the first woman kisses her on the lips and then asks the child to kiss her on different parts of her body.
YouTube India chief summoned. The objectionable video was uploaded a month ago but YouTube did not remove the content. Police have registered an FIR under IPC section 509, POCSO Act 15, 19 and IT Act 67 (D). However, no arrest has been made in the case so far. NCPCR has also summoned the head of government affairs and public policy of YouTube India.
