Elon Musk: Eligibility to become an employee of Musk’s companies

Elon Musk: Billionaire Elon Musk is known for his maverick business ideas and unique operating style. In his decades-long career, Musk has founded several successful companies, including Tesla Motors, SpaceX, Neuralink, The Boring Company, and the social media platform of the world’s richest people. Technology enthusiasts around the world aspire to work for his companies. So what does it take to become an employee of Musk’s companies? Elon Musk has a completely different view of recruitment. Speaking at the WSJ CEO Summit in 2020, Musk was quoted as saying by CNBC, “I think a lot of MBAs will be running companies.” He said that a major problem in US companies is the presence of too many MBA graduates and having a management background may not be an advantage when recruiting. Musk believes that MBA graduates are mainly associated with spreadsheets, presentations and numbers, providing little insight. Earlier, a Fortune report had talked about the recruitment criteria for Elon Musk’s social media company X. According to the report, Musk follows a six-step approach to hiring people.

– Vacancies related to recruitment for X are not advertised on any job portals. The company has its own job board. Therefore, information about vacancies at X is not available on LinkedIn or other career sites. The application process requires candidates to mention the exceptional work they have done in their past. For example, candidates do not have to just say that they have worked at Google. Instead, the candidate must explain how they increased the company’s revenue by launching a major update in Google Ads.

-If an application is selected, the candidate will be contacted for an interview. Later, a technical screening and an on-site interview will be conducted.

-The interview does not follow a pre-determined script as X is a company that does not like red tape or bureaucracy.

-Elon Musk revealed that the candidate needs to be creative enough and not just focus on changing the color of the button. They need to show creativity in problem solving.

-Elon Musk has revealed another important thing for the hiring process in his companies that he prefers candidates who do not have a history of being fired from their previous jobs.
