Election training held in Kokrajhar ahead of Assam Assembly Elections 2026

KOKRAJHAR: In view of the upcoming 2026 Assembly Elections, a major training program for Assembly Level Master Trainers (ALMTs) was held at the Bodoland University, Kokrajhar, on Friday. The session was led by State Level Master Trainers (SLMTs) and District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs) to strengthen preparations and ensure smooth and efficient conduct of the election process.

The training was conducted in the presence of District Commissioner and District Election Officer, Kokrajhar, Pankaj Chakraborty; Election Officer, Kokrajhar, Keshbananda Taid, and other concerned officials. Detailed guidance was provided on the various stages of the polling process, the roles and responsibilities of polling staff, and the election guidelines to be followed so that they can be effectively implemented at the ground level.

Meanwhile, as part of ongoing SVEEP activities, a demonstration program on EVM and VVPAT was held for new voters at Aronai College in Kokrajhar. The initiative aimed to familiarize young voters with the working of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and VVPATs and encourage their active participation in the democratic process. The program aimed to promote voter awareness and increase electoral participation among first-time voters. Students actively participated in the interactive session, where their questions regarding the voting process were answered.
