Bhubaneswar: E-KYC process for ration card will be completed by the end of June in Odisha, said Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Thursday. He speculated that about 20 lakh beneficiaries may be left out.
As many as 95 percent of the beneficiaries have done their E-KYCs. If the E-KYC process is completed in June, those who have not done it will be left out.
After the new government came to power, 17 lakh applications were received for ration card. As many as 6 lakh ration cards are being issued now and 15 lakh cards have been approved.
Online applications are being made not only at block offices, but also at Jana Seva Kendras, the minister said.
