Drivers worried due to closure of Tank Band Road

Hyderabad: For over a month, any motorist coming towards Lower Tank Bund Road has not had the option to bypass the multiple barricades put up by the authorities. The road closures on both sides have turned what was once a simple route into a confusing maze, creating confusion and inconvenience. Earlier, people traveling from Raniganj and Kavadiguda towards Khairatabad would simply take the Lower Tank Bund road and jump over the higher level Telugu Thalli to avoid the traffic on the Tank Bund road. However, for the past few days, commuters have been welcomed with a sign: “Lower Tank Bund is closed. Tome el desvio”. Let it be said that the path from this extreme is not completely closed. But it is certain that it is closed at the other end near the Maisamma temple, which is found just a few steps up the stairs. The only option now would be to take a U turn, travel in the wrong direction, turn right onto Indira Park Road and walk a long way to reach the other side of these barricades. He retreated completely towards Kavadiguda and turned left to enter Tank Bund Road. Either way, you’ll be left without gas and without patience. The road leading from Tank Bund to Khairatabad Elevated Pass was also blocked for a few days near the Secretariat, causing further inconvenience to commuters and creating a traffic jam. “We need to know the reason for the blockage of the road from Lower Tank Bund to the elevated pass Telugu Thalli. There is no point in speeding up traffic when it blocks one meaning and diverts all traffic to the other (sic), lamented a user of X. Although the initial hypothesis was that the route was closed due to some repairs, a statement from the traffic police confirmed that the route was cut to avoid traffic jams. Although there is congestion on some nights, the route is quiet on most days. Like those trying to reach the western part of Hyderabad, via the new steel bridge VST or Nallakunta and adjoining areas, motorists also face a similar problem, i.e. turning right onto the road Lower Tank Bund. Is closed. Many people usually use this route to reach Secunderabad. Now I have to walk through several steep lanes to reach my shop near SD Road”, says Manoj Gandikota, who lives near Ramakrishna Math. As frustrations grow and commuters face this daily challenge, it is time for the authorities to introduce alternative approaches to manage the situation.
