On the occasion of Driver’s Day, which is celebrated to recognize the services of Colonel Nizamuddin, the personal driver of freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, drivers, vehicle owners and cleaners come together to celebrate the day.
The chief guest of the program was Transport Department official MS Vara Prasad, who participated in the Road Safety Mahotsav. During his speech, he stressed on the sanctity of the driver’s profession and urged everyone not to defame it. He highlighted that being a driver does not just mean driving a vehicle but also includes the responsibility of being the owner of the vehicle, caretaker of the goods and provider for one’s family.
Varaprasad stressed the importance of responsible driving and the role of drivers in society. He mentioned that the world cannot progress without drivers and urged them to work hard and make their profession proud. He also stressed the importance of following road safety measures and behaving well while performing their duties, as this ensures the safety of both their own families and the families of the vehicle owners.
Lastly, Varaprasad encouraged drivers to give up all bad habits and strive to improve their behaviour, so that they can truly do justice to the noble profession of driving.
