To ensure a transparent and streamlined paddy procurement system at the support price for the 2025-26 Kharif marketing year, the district administration is continuously taking action against illegal paddy storage and transportation. In this regard, the flying squad team of the Balod Agricultural Produce Market conducted intensive inspections in various villages today and seized a large quantity of illegal paddy.
Tehsildar Ashutosh Sharma stated that the flying squad has so far registered six cases under the Mandi Act and seized 218 quintals of paddy. In today’s action, 22 quintals of paddy were seized from Limora village, 40 quintals from Londi, 99 quintals from Pondi, 32 quintals from Bhedia Navagaon, and 24 quintals from Belmand, all under Balod tehsil.
This strict and continuous monitoring by the district administration demonstrates that effective action will continue to completely stop the illegal storage and transportation of paddy.
