Bhilai. The case of theft of an ancestral diamond worth lakhs of rupees from Bhilai in Durg district has come to the fore three and a half months after the incident. On the report, the Bhilai Nagar police have registered a case against the unknown accused and started investigation. It is to be known that Mahesh Soni, who lives in Sector 6 of Bhilai Township, has filed a complaint of theft of ancestral diamond and other items at Bhilai Nagar police station. He told that he has a shop named Mini Market at Shaddap No. 34 in Sector 6 Civic Center Market. They sell wall paper posters, gift items photo framing in their shop.
On 17 February 2023, he closed his shop and went home. When we reached the shop the next day, the lock was found broken. Everything was lying scattered inside the shop. A lot of wall paper, posters, gift items and photo framing material were stolen from inside. Along with all these things, there was not even a piece of ancestral diamond kept in the counter. Thieves have stolen that too. Police said that the theft incident took place on February 17, 2023, about three and a half months ago. The victim is registering his complaint now, whereas he should have lodged the complaint at the same time. Police say – they have started investigation by filing a report of theft. The victim has been asked for a photo of the diamond so that it can be easily found.
