Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Part 2 is all set for its OTT debut
Dune Part 2: After rocking the box office worldwide with its theatrical run, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Part 2 is finally set for its OTT debut. The hit Hollywood film starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya in lead roles will be available for Indian audiences from the first week of August. Although the film is already available to rent on Amazon Prime Video, movie lovers will have the option to watch this epic drama for free. The sequel, which takes forward the saga of Frank Herbert’s classic 1965 novel, will be offered in seven languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, and Marathi. After the success of the first part released in 2021, fans can now enjoy Paul Atreides’ sci-fi adventure from the comfort of their homes. JioCinema recently announced that Villeneuve’s thriller film will be available for free to subscribers from August 1. The sequel continues Atreides’ journey as he teams up with Chani and the Fremen to take revenge on those who destroyed his family. Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Geo wrote, “Fear is the greatest enemy.
Prepare your mind for what’s to come.” In an earlier interview with Screen Rant, Denis Villeneuve praised Timothée Chalamet’s transformation and dedication for Dune Part 2. The filmmaker added, “He was a boy in Part 1, and then bringing this boy into a man, becoming that charismatic dark figure, becoming that force that is Lisan al-Gaib on screen. I thought Timothée did a fantastic job, and I got emotional at times seeing how he becomes even more confident and better as an actor onscreen, on set as he becomes a real leading man. I thought he was more comfortable in Part 2. He knew how to protect himself, how to keep his focus and how to be the person who brings all the actors together in a high spirit.” After the success of the sequel, the team is already working on Dune 3. Apart from Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, Dune Part 2 stars Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Austin Butler, Christopher Walken, Florence Pugh, Léa Seydoux, and Souhaila Yacoub.
