DC Kulgam chairs public darbar at Manzgam

Continuing its endeavour to reach out to people and to provide governance at their doorsteps, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today visited far-off Manzgam area, where he presided over a grievances redressal camp under Block Diwas, a weekly public outreach programme.
The programme witnessed overwhelming response of people from Avil, Aasnoor, Manzgam, Hallan and other villages who apprised the DC about their issue and grievances for early redressal.
Delegation from these areas demanded establishment of a receiving station at Manzgam, Augmentation of LT network, extension and proper restoration of Ahrabal canal, staff Augmentation at PHC Manzgam, Government accommodations for Government offices, construction of drainage for Hallan road and various other developmental demands.
All the issues were listened to by the DC patiently, while some of the issues of immediate nature were redressed on the spot.
Other issues and demands were noted for further action.
Addressing the occasion, the DC urged people to actively participate in Gram Sabhas to prioritize developmental works of their areas.
He also sought cooperation of people in making the Kulgam district clean and beautiful.
The DC also instructed Agriculture and allied departments for organizing special awareness cum registration camps under HADP to aware and register beneficiaries under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme.
Meanwhile, people of the area hailed the District Administration for timely snow clearance and restoration of the services.
Others who were present in the grievance camp included ADDC, Bashir Ahmad Wani; ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri; SDM, Noorabad, ACR, CMO, Tehsildar, BDO, Dy.SP and other officers.
