Balasore: The seized mobile phone and the WhatsApp chatting of deceased young female constable Jashoda Das are expected to play a vital role and help the police to crack her mysterious death.
According to sources, police are very closely verifying the phone and WhatsApp chatting of the deceased constable with the aim to get some lead in the mysterious case as she had shared an emotional status on her WhatsApp before allegedly ending her life in her police barracks in Balasore on March 7.
On the other hand, Jashoda’s brother Haripad Das has field a case at the Khunta Police station alleging her strained relationship with fellow constable Balaram Das. In his complaint Haripad has claimed that Balaram disowned Jashoda after having physical relationship with her and looting her money.
Based on Haripad’s complaint, police conducted a marathon interrogation of Balaram and is assumed to have extracted vital information from him. However, Jashoda’s seized mobile phone only is expected to uncover the real mystery behind her death.
Meanwhile, speaking to the newsmen, Balasore Superintendent of Police (SP), Raj Prasad said, “We are carrying out the investigation in all different angles. Be it her medical history or personal issue or even the professional matter, we are taking everything seriously and the exact cause of her death can be ascertained after completion of the investigation.”
When asked about the role of her fellow constable Balaram Das, who was in an alleged relationship with her, the SP said that he is being interrogated and the case has many other angles too. It is part of investigation, which can be said only after reaching a conclusion.
Balasore district police has taken the female constable’s death case very seriously and has appointed a DSP ranked lady officer to probe the case.
